Organisation Overview: TriGen was founded in 2020 to serve vulnerable older adults in Singapore with innovative intergenerational programmes. TriGen strives to bridge generational gaps through relationship building and meaningful interactions in its programmes. TriGen hopes to inculcate youths with a passion for service and offer them a platform to gain healthcare and caregiving skills.
Brief Description: The programme will require interns to assist in recruiting, training, and engaging youth and healthcare volunteers participating in TriGen's volunteering programmes. Interns will maintain a comprehensive overview of TriGen's volunteering initiatives, ensuring that volunteers are properly trained and remain on task. Additionally, they will help plan various events throughout the volunteering programme.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop recruitment & training materials for volunteers
Create engaging training resources tailored to programme needs
Plan volunteer engagement activities to appreciate and retain volunteers
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Gain exposure to community programmes serving the medical and social needs of the elderly
Recognise and support the needs of youth volunteers
Learn how to guide and mentor youth volunteers
Participate in volunteer training sessions
Acquire knowledge and expertise in volunteer management
Develop event management skills
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 6.00pm (Mon-Thu), 8.30am - 5.30pm (Fri)
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
Requirements (if any):
• As TriGen is an organisation formed largely by volunteers, there will be meetings which will occur on weekday nights and/or weekends. If you are required to attend these meetings beyond working hours, you will be able to claim time-off and off-in-lieus accordingly
• We looking for interns who are passionate about serving the older adults and empowering the community to care for these older adults. Traits we look for include: Commitment, initiative, willingness to learn
