Organisation Overview: Established in 1995, Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a voluntary welfare organisation dedicated to providing holistic care and support to help seniors age healthily in place with community participation, enabling them to enjoy purposeful and meaningful lives. LBSA currently operates 10 Active Ageing Centres, two Community Case Management Services regions (East &West),two Senior Group Homes, Home Personal Care services, that reaches out to socially isolated seniors.

Brief Description: This role is to assist in the planning and implementation of projects focused on leveraging technology to enhance the independence, safety, and social connectivity of seniors, improve their quality of life. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives that address the needs of an ageing population while gaining valuable experience in project management and innovation in the technology-for-seniors space. improve seniors’ quality of life.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of technology-based initiatives aimed at enhancing seniors' health, wellness, independence, and social connectivity.

  2. Provide one-on-one or group guidance sessions to help seniors understand and use these technologies effectively

  3. Conduct outreach activities to engage seniors and promote the adoption of relevant health and wellness technologies.

  4. Act as a liaison between seniors, caregivers, and project teams to ensure technology solutions are accessible and effective.

  5. Contribute to research in technologies for senior care.

  6. Support grant proposals to secure resources for senior care technology related projects.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to different service providers, government agencies and seniors.

  2. To be able to communicate with different stakeholders.

  3. To learn how to plan and organize outreach events with stakeholders on the objective of the event.

  4. To gain knowledge on the process of the full project management stages.

  5. To participate on the different stages of the project such as liaison with stakeholders, scheduling, testing and prototyping.

  6. To participate on project launch if needed.

  7. To be able to guide the seniors and share the information of their needs.

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
