Organisation Overview: Life Community Services Society seeks to affirm, nurture, and develop the intrinsic value of the individual to the fullest potential and inculcate love and develop respect within the family. LCSS focuses on social and community work like mentoring children, youths and families, and the provision of before and after-school care. We also partner with like-minded social service agencies to provide effective care for the less advantaged children and their families.

Brief Description: Life Community Services Society is one of the leaders in the Student Care sector, and you will be playing an active role in supporting the learning and holistic development of children aged 7 – 12 in a homely environment under the supervision of the experienced teachers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support children with their homework time

  2. Assist in mealtimes, transitions and dismissal

  3. Support the teacher to assist children in their crafts and other activities

  4. Help to interact, engage and mingle with children during outdoor/indoor play

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To observe and learn how class teacher manages a class

  2. To learn how to communicate and work effectively with young children

  3. To gain understanding of child development and student care operation

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm or 10.00am - 7.00pm (according to needs of the operation)

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects

Requirements (if any):
1. Enthusiastic about working with children and making a positive difference
2. Creative, resourceful, and willing to try new ideas

  1. Responsible, patient, and able to model positive behaviours

  2. Good communication and teamwork skills

  3. Students or fresh graduates from education, psychology, social work, or related fields are welcome
