Organisation Overview: Engineering Good Ltd. is a Singapore-based non-profit organisation that supports inclusivity for vulnerable communities, such as persons with disabilities and low-income families, through technology and sustainable engineering solutions.
Brief Description: Assist in Engineering Good's Communications initiatives and increase engagement with various stakeholders such as volunteers, corporate and community partners and end-users.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Produce social media & website content with the objective of benefitting our beneficiaries (low-income families & persons with disabilities) and mission
Assist with social media monitoring and answering enquiries in a timely manner
Support communications team in marketing efforts, including basic design, photography, and videography
Monitor social media analytics and propose ideas to generate publicity for Engineering Good and encourage steps towards building an inclusive society
Cat duties, such as brushing, feeding, and changing of litter
Any other ad-hoc duties
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Develop awareness of community and sustainability issues
Cultivate empathy for the lives of the vulnerable (such as Persons with Disabilities) in our community
Learn about inclusive design and content allyship
Increase practical knowledge of Communications and Advocacy, especially through the lens of non-profits
Project management skills in creating content and scheduling postings in a timely manner
Learn about the issues on the ground pertaining to Digital Inclusion and Assistive Technology
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6.30pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
Requirements (if any):
• Initiative, diligence, trustworthiness, willingness to learn, an ability to laugh at oneself, and an open mind
• Knowledge of usage of design software and basic design chops preferable
