Organisation Overview: SalvageGarden is Singapore’s first assistive-technology makerspace, devoted to co-creating affordable, open-source device solutions with persons with disabilities, caregivers and makers.
Through hands-on weekly workshops, we engage in inclusive design and local manufacturing, building a community of makers committed to accessibility, empowerment and global sharing of assistive tech innovation.
Brief Description: As an intern in the Programmes Intern team, you play a key role in attracting, developing, and engaging individuals who align with Programme’s values while fostering a positive work environment to enable team members to contribute effectively to the implementation and scaling of our projects.
The Programme Intern will play a key role in facilitating programmes, with a focus on strengthening engagement, expanding outreach, and ensuring smooth coordination across projects and events.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the running of programmes by handling logistics, helping to facilitate sessions, and engaging participants, volunteers, and partner organisations
Learn and apply maker skills (e.g. 3D printing) to support the design and prototyping of assistive devices. Introductory workshops are available through the National Library Board
Help track programme outcomes by creating simple tools, collecting feedback, and preparing summaries or reports for the team
Provide general programme support such as maintaining records, monitoring timelines, scheduling meetings, and keeping communication organised
Assist in putting together programme plans, including setting goals, outlining steps, and preparing materials for workshops and outreach activities
Help research topics like, disability inclusion, and community innovation in Singapore and the region to support programme planning
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. Build coordination and organisational skills by working closely with volunteers and partners
2. Learn how to carry out outreach and volunteer recruitment in a community setting
3. Gain experience in documenting programme activities and tracking volunteer contributions
4. Get practical, hands-on experience supporting community and volunteer-driven projects
5. Strengthen communication skills through regular interaction with participants, volunteers, and partner organisations
6. Understand how programmes are designed, carried out, and evaluated to create meaningful impact
To be exposed to 3D printing and maker technologies in a community or educational setting
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Sun-Thu, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Regular weekend work as part of normal schedule

• Work well with others and have effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive and willing to learn, with a positive attitude towards feedback and development
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
