Brief Description: This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and executing diverse volunteer, vendor, and staff-led programs while supporting smooth clinical and administrative operations at our Day Hospice Centre. The intern will be befriending and engaging with our patient with life-limiting illness in our vision of adding life to days.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Supporting or facilitating activities andprogrammes for patients at Oasis
2. Assisting the Programme Executive in the planning and coordination of Day Hospice initiatives
3. Presenting programme updates during team roll calls
4. Providing assistance to patients, including
a. Portering
b. Toileting support
5. Supervising patients during transitions
6. Assisting with the facilitation of centre tours for visitors
7. Volunteers engagement
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To gain hands-on experience in planning and executing diverse volunteer, vendor and staff-led programmes
To be able to manage communications at workplace with colleagues as well as patients
To develop and understanding and learn more about person-centred care principles
To learn about the employee life cycle and the processes involved
Develop proficiency in organisational skills
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: No weekend work required
