Organisation Overview: Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home provides temporary shelter, care, and protection to boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 21 years old who come from needy and disadvantaged families in Singapore. Our Home is one of the biggest children's homes in Singapore. There are usually 70 - 90 boys and girls living in the Children's Home and every year, 20 - 30 children are admitted or discharged back into their families or community.

Brief Description: The Programmes intern designs and develops programmes for children, youths, families and educational volunteers. These programmes are designed to increase their knowledge and awareness. He/She also plan budgets for these programmes and joins the meetings with external parties in the development and execution of these programmes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Work with other internal and external stakeholders to design and execute programmes.

  2. Work with the operations department to plan programme logistics and crowd control.

  3. Communicate roles and responsibilities to programme volunteers.

  4. Provide administrative support to the programme team's operations, e.g. notetaking for meetings

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To apply the various strategies to communicate with children and youths during programme facilitation

  1. To be exposed to project management across various stakeholders

  2. To gain knowledge in effective programme coordination and communications with different stakeholders.

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon - Tue & Thur - 12:30pm - 9.30pm , Wed & Fri , 9:00am - 6:00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects

Requirements (if any): Given that Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home is an MSF Gazetted Place of Safety for Children, All interns are required to undergo MSF screening 1 month in advance prior to internship commencement. The age of the Interns must be above 18 years old as per the MSF regulations.
