Organisation Overview: New Hope Community Services (New Hope CS) is a social service agency working to bring change into the lives of the displaced and disadvantaged in the community. We provide a range of services and programmes such as temporary shelter, casework, mentoring, job-matching, life-skills training and support with long-term housing and employment. We are a full member of the National Council of Social Service since 2005 and have been granted Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) status until 2026.
Brief Description:
Support Community programmes by curating programmes (townhalls, CSR programmes etc), managing events logs.
Assist in operational tasks such as event tracking, arrears follow-up, room inspections, and dispute management to gain hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement and estate operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist in curating and organising community programmes (e.g., townhalls, CSR activities) to develop event planning and coordination skills.
Maintain and update event logs to strengthen administrative accuracy and data management skills.
Support arrears management processes to gain exposure to operational workflows and resident engagement.
Conduct room inspections and learn to perform systematic checks and reporting.
Assist with dispute management cases to build skills in communication, conflict resolution, and customer service.
Collaborate with different teams and stakeholders to understand managing agent operations and cross-functional work processes.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to low income community development work.
To be able to plan events and organise town halls etc
To apply community development principles to build a more harmonious community.
To lean about how to manage complaints and feedback from residents on issues affecting them.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon to Fri - 9am to 6pm (Occasionally, Mon and Thurs working hours will be 9 am to 9 pm depending on schedule)
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
