Organisation Overview: Woodlands Social Centre (WSC) seeks to Bless Families and Transform Communities through its services and outreach programmes. WSC targets families with young children who are in need of support and empower them to master life transitions through professional services and outreach platforms.

WSC Provides:

  1. Interventive Services

  2. Programmes for Children and Families

  3. Outreach Platforms for communities to be engaged.

Brief Description: The Programme Assistant / Social Work Associate will be involved in:

  1. Programme Execution

  2. Planning of programmes

  3. Engaging families and children

  4. Clinical exposure through social workers.

He/She will receive:

  1. Programme Supervision

  2. Involvement in group supervisions

The Programme Assistant / Social Work Associate will report to the Programme IC, Social Worker, or Executive Director.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Involvement in programming planning

  2. Executing of programme sessions

  3. Engage the community through outreach platforms

  4. Assist in administrative matters of programme or organisaton

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to strategic programme development

  2. Fundraising & volunteer management skills

  3. Exposure to clinical skills - counselling & case management

  4. Participation in events held by organisation

  5. Grow in understanding communities in need

  6. Develop empathy for people

  7. Gain knowledge about social work frameworks

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 5.30pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Flexible - weekend work may be required depending on operational needs
