Organisation Overview: Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS) is the local chapter of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. We advance responsible business practices and drive multi-stakeholder action in areas such as climate action, human rights, labour, and anti-corruption to build a more sustainable and resilient future.
Brief Description: This role will support UNGCNS in expanding its network and building strategic partnerships such as assisting with researching potential corporate and institutional partners, outreach and engagement, coordinating meetings, tracking partnership opportunities, and supporting business development initiatives. The intern will gain hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership strategy, and professional networking while contributing to sustainability and corporate responsibility programmes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To research and identify potential corporate, institutional, and NGO partners aligned with UNGCNS’ mission
To assist in outreach and engagement with prospective partners via email, calls, or virtual meetings
To support coordination of partnership meetings and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders
To track partnership opportunities, leads, and progress using Excel or CRM tools
To help prepare materials, presentations, and proposals for potential partners
To support ongoing business development initiatives and ad-hoc tasks related to partnership growth
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To develop hands-on experience in identifying and engaging potential corporate and institutional partners
To build professional skills in stakeholder communication, relationship management, and outreach
To gain experience preparing proposals, presentations, and supporting business development initiatives
To learn to track and manage partnership opportunities using Excel or CRM tools
To understand the role of partnerships in advancing sustainability, corporate responsibility, and organisational impact
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Thu, 9am - 6pm; Fri, 9am - 5pm; Mon & Fri - work from home unless otherwise
Will this internship require weekend work?: No weekend work required
Requirements (if any):
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience in research, business development, sales, or stakeholder engagement is an advantage
Ability to draft professional emails, presentations, and basic proposals
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Professional attitude and ability to liaise with external partners
Team player, collaborative, and adaptable to changing priorities
Flexible to assist with ad-hoc tasks or urgent outreach as needed
Interest in corporate sustainability, ESG, and non-profit partnership work, is preferred
