Organisation Overview: Woodlands Social Centre (WSC) seeks to Bless Families and Transform Communities through its services and outreach programmes. WSC targets families with young children who are in need of support and empower them to master life transitions through professional services and outreach platforms.

WSC Provides:

  1. Interventive Services

  2. Programmes for Children and Families

  3. Outreach Platforms for communities to be engaged.

Brief Description: The Media / Publications & Comms Intern will be involved in promoting the work that Woodlands Social Centre (WSC) is involved in, the focus of the appointment is to:

  1. Promote the image of WSC

  2. Promote programmes in WSC

  3. Build awareness of social issues face in the community

  4. Build awareness of events and fundraising events held by WSC

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage social media platforms

  2. Generate media strategy for social media (eg. Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)

  3. Gather testimonies from beneficiaries

  4. Manage WSC website

  5. Gather media for usage (eg. Photos, videos)

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To understand the social services

  2. To build a better understanding of how to promote social awareness of issues faced by society

  3. To be exposed to programmes that seek to empower those in need

  4. Exposure to publicity and volunteer management

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 5.30pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
