Organisation Overview: Mental ACT Community Services is a non-profit organisation in Singapore dedicated to destigmatising mental health within the South Asian community. We provide affordable, culturally responsive counselling, outreach, and education. Interns gain hands-on experience in client support, community projects, and event planning, developing empathy, cultural awareness, and professional skills in a supportive learning environment.

Brief Description:

This role will design and enhance digital systems to support Mental ACT’s operations, volunteer management, and data workflows, contributing to greater organisational efficiency and accessibility.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Build online database systems for volunteers, donors, and staff

  2. Develop backend systems to streamline organisational processes

  3. Design and maintain interactive websites and dashboards

  4. Ensure data privacy, usability, and integration across platforms

  5. Collaborate with programme teams to improve digital workflows

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To apply IT and database design skills in a non-profit setting

  2. To understand system design for community and volunteer management

  3. To learn about data ethics, security, and user experience design

  4. To gain practical experience in digital process automation

  5. To develop teamwork and problem-solving skills in applied tech projects

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am to 6.00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
