Organisation Overview: Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS) is the local chapter of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. We advance responsible business practices and drive multi-stakeholder action in areas such as climate action, human rights, labour, and anti-corruption to build a more sustainable and resilient future.
Brief Description: This role will support UNGCNS in planning and executing Summit 2026 such as assisting with event logistics, preparing materials, coordinating speakers, scheduling meetings, tracking RSVPs, and on-site setup. The intern will gain hands-on experience, network with sustainability leaders, and contribute to a high-profile corporate sustainability event in Singapore.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare and assemble event materials, including programmes and posters
Coordinate with speakers and confirm their participation and requirements
Schedule and facilitate pre-event meetings with speakers, partners, and vendors
Assist with registration lists, invitations, RSVP tracking, and data management in Excel
Support on-site logistics during the Summit, including setup, attendee guidance, and AV support
Work with exhibitors and vendors on various aspects such as booth setup, materials, and coordination
Create simple graphics and visual materials for event presentations, signage, or social media
Manage event communications and provide updates to participants as needed
Perform any ad-hoc tasks required to ensure smooth event operations leading up to and during the Summit
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To manage the end-to-end logistics of a high-profile corporate sustainability summit, including pre-event preparation, scheduling, and on-site execution
To gain experience liaising with speakers, embassies, VIPs, exhibitors, vendors, and other participants, and understand the importance of clear communication in multi-stakeholder events
To develop proficiency in Excel for data tracking and registration management and create simple graphic materials for events and communications
To build capacity to handle last-minute challenges, ad-hoc tasks, and real-time decisions during event execution
To gain insights into corporate sustainability initiatives, engage with sustainability leaders, and develop networking skills with professionals across sectors
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Thu, 9am - 6pm; Fri, 9am - 5pm; Mon & Fri - work from home unless otherwise
Will this internship require weekend work?: No weekend work required
Requirements (if any):
Proficiency in Excel for data tracking and reporting
Ability to create simple graphics (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, or similar)
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Experience in event planning, coordination, or administrative support is an advantage
Detail-oriented and proactive
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to last-minute changes
Availability for on-site support during the Summit
Interest in corporate sustainability, ESG, and responsible business practices, is preferred
