Organisation Overview: Nature Society Singapore is a non-profit organisation that inspires and enables people to take action towards a sustainable and biodiverse planet through engagement, education, advocacy and research. NSS remains steadfast in its goal to conserve biodiversity and habitats in partnership with agencies, peers and corporates in Singapore. Our work has made significant impact in Singapore, and NSS has been consulted by several public agencies for developments and conservation initiatives.
Brief Description: The Event Management Intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of NSS events, including community outreach, corporate CSR activities, volunteer programmes, fundraising initiatives, and nature education events. The intern will gain hands-on experience in event logistics, stakeholder engagement, communications, and sustainability-focused event design.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning & Coordination
a) Assist in the planning, scheduling, and logistics of NSS events (e.g. nature walks, conservation talks, volunteer CSR events, biodiversity festivals)
b) Support venue booking, permit applications, and liaising with vendors and partners
c) Help develop event run sheets, checklists, and budgets
2. Communications & Promotion
a) Draft publicity materials, social media posts, and eDMs to promote events
b) Coordinate with the Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding
c) Manage event registrations and participant communication
3. On-site Event Support
a) Assist in event set-up, registration, and coordination of volunteers and participants
b) Ensure smooth event flow and troubleshoot logistical issues on the ground
c) Collect photos, feedback, and attendance data
4. Post-Event Reporting & Documentation
a) Help prepare post-event reports, photo libraries, and impact summaries
b) Track attendance, participant feedback, and environmental sustainability metrics (e.g. waste reduction, carbon offset efforts)
5. Partnership & Stakeholder Support
a) Support coordination with corporate partners for CSR collaborations
b) Assist in preparing proposals, thank-you letters, and donor/partner updates

1. To be exposed to local biodiversity, environmental and nature conservation issues in Singapore
2. To become an effective team player as well as independent and resourceful self-starter
3. To learn how to apply communications, design and writing skills
4. To gain knowledge about Singapore's amazing flora and fauna and how to protect their natural habitats
5. To have the opportunity to engage in community-facing work
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
