Organisation Overview: Diabetes Singapore is the only society in Singapore dedicated exclusively to supporting the care and well-being of individuals with diabetes. As a registered social service agency under the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), we are committed to empowering people living with diabetes, along with their families and caregivers, through comprehensive services such as health screenings, diabetic complications screenings, educational programmes, counselling, and community outreach.
Brief Description: Are you passionate about using creativity to drive social impact? Join Diabetes Singapore as a Creative Communications & Engagement Intern and help shape how we connect with the community through compelling visuals, storytelling, and campaigns. This internship is ideal for students in Art, Design, Media, or Communications who want to apply their skills to real-world health advocacy and community engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Creative Content Development
Design engaging visuals for social media, newsletters, posters, and educational materials.
Assist in producing short videos, reels, or animations to promote diabetes awareness and healthy living.
Contribute to campaign branding and visual identity for events and outreach programs.
Digital & Social Media Communications
Support the planning and scheduling of content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
Help monitor engagement metrics and suggest creative ways to boost reach and interaction.
Assist in crafting captions, stories, and posts that are informative, inclusive, and visually appealing.
Storytelling & Community Engagement
Interview beneficiaries, volunteers, and healthcare professionals to develop human-interest stories.
Assist in writing blog posts, newsletters, and donor updates that highlight impact and inspire action.
Help curate content that reflects the voices and experiences of people living with diabetes.
Campaign & Event Support
Contribute to the creative direction of awareness campaigns (e.g., World Diabetes Day).
Design event collaterals such as banners, name tags, presentation slides, and backdrops.
Capture photos and videos during events for post-event highlights and social media.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Real-world experience in nonprofit communications and public health advocacy.
A portfolio of creative work that contributes to meaningful social impact.
Mentorship from experienced professionals in marketing, design, and outreach.
Opportunities to attend and support community events and campaigns.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
