Organisation Overview: Bethesda CARE Centre (BCARE) was established in 1996 as a social service agency dedicated to serving the community. Our vision is to foster communities of care through bridging gaps and building lives in our neighbourhood. We reach out to children, youths, families, seniors and persons with mental health conditions. Our efforts are dedicated to aiding the poor, marginalised and vulnerable individuals. We also aim to enhance the lives of individuals through engaging and meaningful activities.

Brief Description: BCARE is a non-profit Social Service Agency that relies on public donations, volunteer support, and government funding. Our communication channels include newsletters, emails, our website, brochures, and various social media platforms.

Interns will assist in publicity and community engagement efforts, help organise and support community outreach activities. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in public relations, marketing, and community work within the social service sector.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop publicity materials

  2. Manage postings for BCARE’s social media platforms

  3. Provide support for corporate and outreach events

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Learn how to create engaging content for social media

  2. Participate in the development of publicity materials

  3. Understand the use of various communication platforms for stakeholder engagement

  4. Gain insight into the social service landscape in Singapore

  5. Develop a broader understanding of the operations of a Social Service Agency

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects

Requirements (if any):

  1. Proficient in written and verbal communication

  2. Creative mindset and strong attention to details

  3. Familiarity with social media platforms and trends

  4. Competent in Canva

  5. Experience with video editing software is a plus

  6. Enthusiasm for learning and adaptability
