Organisation Overview: The Tapestry Project SG is a registered charity and non-profit organisation that champions mental health education, empowerment and upstream intervention through person-first stories and narrative programmes.
Brief Description: A creative communications intern supporting a mental health charity that uses personal stories as tools for recovery and education. Responsibilities include crafting social media content, designing visuals, gathering lived-experience stories ethically, and helping promote workshops and campaigns. Ideal for someone proactive, organised, and passionate about mental health and creative storytelling.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the development of social media content across platforms, including drafting captions, designing graphics, editing video clips, and scheduling posts.
Assist in writing social media posts, press releases, and stakeholder updates that highlight mental health stories, program milestones, and educational resources.
Help maintain and update website content, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and reflective of current activities and campaigns.
Conduct background research on mental health themes, audience trends, and sector-related topics to inform communications strategy.
Contribute to planning, promoting, and documenting events such as workshops, outreach sessions, and awareness campaigns.
Capture and organise stories from participants, volunteers, and staff in a sensitive and ethical manner, ensuring all safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines are followed.
Support analytics tracking by monitoring engagement metrics and producing simple reports to guide future communications efforts.
Assist with general administrative tasks related to communications, fundraising, or outreach as needed.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to the development of social media content, newsletters, website, and digital storytelling for a mental health charity.
To be able to communicate lived-experience stories ethically, sensitively, and in line with safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines
To apply creative skills in graphic design, video editing, and copywriting to produce engaging, trauma-informed communications.
To participate in planning and promoting awareness campaigns, workshops, and community events that highlight mental health recovery.
To learn how to conduct basic research on mental health themes, audience trends, and sector developments to support communications strategy.
To gain knowledge in how personal storytelling supports mental-health recovery, public education, and stigma reduction, and how to reflect this in messaging.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 10:00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
