Brief Description: This intern will support the development of SHINE's corporate communication strategies, specifically in developing creative assets and visual materials that enhance SHINE’s brand identity, corporate presence, and digital engagement, ensuring that assets created reflect SHINE’s mission and vision and are in line with SHINE’s brand values.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Branding Assets: Assist in the development of SHINE’s branding materials (i.e. logo applications, email signature lock-ups, brand identity guidelines etc.), and support the refinement of brand assets to ensure visual consistency across all platforms
2. Corporate Collaterals: Design corporate communication templates such as newsletters, presentation decks, programme fact sheets and social media templates
3. Website Assets & Visual Storytelling: Create and edit website assets such as infographics and simple animations; work with the team to prepare visual content for SHINE’s website refresh
4. Social Media Content: Support in developing social media graphics, short-form videos, and creative posts based on a content calendar (i.e. announcements, partner recognition, fundraising campaigns, and call-to-action messages etc.); research visual trends to suggest creative formats that resonate with SHINE’s audiences, while ensuring adherence to SHINE’s brand look and feel
5. Cross-team Support: Collaborate with programme teams to translate technical content into engaging visuals; provide design support for SHINE events, campaigns, or partner engagement efforts when required
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
This role is ideal for students from art, media, and design backgrounds who are keen to apply their design and storytelling skills in a social impact setting. The intern will gain hands-on experience in branding, graphic design, social media content development, and digital storytelling, contributing to SHINE’s mission of enabling children and youth to maximise their potential.
1. Develop a portfolio of branding, digital, and social media assets for a mission-driven organisation
2. Gain insights into the development and implementation of a corporate communication strategy in a social service organisation
3. Develop skills in crafting and managing communication materials for various platforms
4. Enhance your ability to deliver impactful messaging for internal and external audiences
5. Understand how branding and design contribute to organisational identity and stakeholder engagement
6. Build skills in research and communication strategy development, learning to apply them to real-world scenarios
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
