Organisation Overview: Nature Society Singapore is a non-profit organisation that inspires and enables people to take action towards a sustainable and biodiverse planet through engagement, education, advocacy and research. NSS remains steadfast in its goal to conserve biodiversity and habitats in partnership with agencies, peers and corporates in Singapore. Our work has made significant impact in Singapore, and NSS has been consulted by several public agencies for developments and conservation initiatives.
Brief Description: Write articles, blog posts, and press releases that highlight the organization’s initiatives, impact stories, and conservation efforts.
Draft compelling content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to raise awareness about ongoing campaigns, events, and environmental issues.
Assist in creating educational materials such as newsletters, brochures, and reports.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation:
Write articles, blog posts, and press releases that highlight the organization’s initiatives, impact stories, and conservation efforts.
Draft compelling content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to raise awareness about ongoing campaigns, events, and environmental issues.
Assist in creating educational materials such as newsletters, brochures, and reports.
2. Research and Reporting:
Conduct research on relevant environmental topics to support content development and stay informed about the latest conservation trends.
Support the development of media kits, impact reports, and case studies.
Coverage of events by Nature Society Singapore
3. Social Media Support:
Assist in managing and scheduling social media posts.
Monitor engagement, track analytics, and suggest improvements to social media strategies.
4. Community Engagement:
Help craft messages that inspire and engage donors, volunteers, and community members.
Assist in developing campaigns aimed at raising awareness and fostering community involvement in conservation efforts.
5. Administrative Support:
Provide general writing and editing support to the communications team as needed.
Help with organizing files, content calendars, media outreach, and donor communications.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. To be exposed to local biodiversity, environmental and nature conservation issues in Singapore
2. To become an effective team player as well as independent and resourceful self-starter
3. To learn how to apply communications, design and writing skills
4. To gain knowledge about Singapore's amazing flora and fauna and how to protect their natural habitats
5. To have the opportunity to engage in community-facing work
Duration of Internship: 5 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
