Communications Intern (Action for Change in Southeast Asia Limited)

Organisation Overview: ActSEA contributes to an equitable and sustainable Southeast Asia by nurturing leaders who are empowered to effect change and amplify impact.

Also active in Indonesia and the Philippines, ActSEA’s path is driven by the aspirations and needs of the communities we work with, including public health, education, gender, and disaster response. In Singapore, we focus on capacity building, behaviour change, and game design to address inequality, disability and inclusion, and environmental issues.

Brief Description: As an intern in the Communications team, you play a key role in sustaining and developing ActSEA’s engagement online and in the countries we are active in (Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines), in order to build relationships with potential and existing funders, partners, and team members.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Take, compile and organise photos and videos from ActSEA’s activities

  2. Draft and publish content for ActSEA’s newsletter, website and social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

  3. Assist with monitoring and managing ActSEA’s social media accounts, including responding to messages and comments

  4. Compile, track and analyse website, social media, and newsletter analytics, and recommend how ActSEA can improve its reach and engagement

  5. Research and identify potential partnership and networking opportunities

  6. Assist in the development of public engagement, networking, and partnership strategies

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Manage ActSEA general email inbox, HubSpot CRM database, and social media platforms to ensure timely and professional communication

  2. Create engaging content and templates for newsletters, website updates, social media posts, internal documents, and other outreach materials

  3. Compile, track, and analyze analytics from the website, social media, and newsletters to assess performance and recommend improvements

  4. Research networking opportunities and potential collaborators aligned with ActSEA’s mission and values

  5. Develop strategies for partnerships, outreach, and fundraising to expand ActSEA’s impact and visibility

  6. Support the planning and execution of public engagement campaigns and branding initiatives

  7. Assist in documenting and sharing stories from the field to highlight the work of ActSEA across Southeast Asia

  8. Contribute to the design and rollout of communications toolkits and guidelines for internal and external use

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
