Organisation Overview: Voices of Asia (VOA) is a Singapore-based social enterprise founded in 2010 with the mission of creating a safe and supportive society for youths in Asia. Our goal is to help youths grow in their career and personal development. Initially launched as a platform for sharing with aspiring corporate individuals, our initiative has since evolved into a structured mentoring program. Today, we run three key mentorship programs: iASPIRE, iLEAD, and BLOOM.
Brief Description: We are looking for energetic and self-motivated individuals to join our team to make an impact on youth’s career and personal development. You will be involved in the development of our business growth strategies and the formation of strategic partnerships. You are also responsible for developing and implementing strategies with considerations to users’ and partners’ needs and evolving trends.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Identifying and researching opportunities for new business leads from a variety of prospecting channels
Participate in and support business strategy and development meetings
Preparing and delivering pitches and presentations to potential new users, clients & partners
Communicating with potential prospects to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems
Creating positive, long-lasting relationships with potential clients
Running outbound campaigns (phone calls, emails etc) to create business opportunities
Collaborate with team members to ensure better end-to-end client journey to drive meet clients’ needs
Developing and presenting proposals customised for each client’s specific needs
Provide input for the team to develop product catalogues and other marketing materials in line with target markets’ needs
Developing rapport with key decision makers of potential clients
Owning the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To learn how to craft a marketable proposal from a viable business solution
To be able to pitch a sales presentation to potential users, clients and partners
To be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
To gain knowledge in the youth mentoring space and youth development, and generate innovative ideas for business growth and sustainability
To gain knowledge and experience working in a social enterprise and developing your business acumen
To be aware of new market opportunities, possibilities for expansion, and current sources of the company’s revenue
To gain a deeper understanding of business especially the inner workings of the various pillars in the company so as to ideate business growth opportunities and formation of strategic partnership and increase financial sustainability
To be able to contribute ideas and perspectives towards youth development via mentoring programs through involvement at different levels, including planning and direct participation
To enhance social and professional network through our community of alumni, mentors and partners, hear and learn from their experiences and perspectives
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
