Organisation Overview: NTUC Health Co-operative Limited (NTUC Health) is an NTUC enterprise that provides a comprehensive and integrated suite of quality and accessible health and elderly care services to meet the growing needs of families and their dependents. NTUC Health is among the largest senior day care, nursing home, and home personal care providers in Singapore. We also offer other services for seniors such as active ageing centres, community support for vulnerable seniors, and a sheltered senior group home.

Brief Description: Support the planning, coordination, and improvement of activity programmes in the nursing home. The intern will work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure programmes are engaging, inclusive, and sustainable. This includes programme operations, volunteer management, documentation, and programme development based on residents’ needs and abilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the implementation and improvement of activity programmes to ensure relevance and impact.

  2. Coordinate daily and special programmes with staff, volunteers, and community partners.

  3. Assist in volunteer management, including scheduling, communication, engagement, and tracking of volunteer attendance and hours using the Volunteer Management System.

  4. Assist in training, guiding and supervising volunteers during programme activities.

  5. Be involved in the curation and development of suitable programmes based on residents’ needs, interests, and abilities, with guidance and support from the team.

  6. Prepare programme materials, attendance lists, and activity setup.

  7. Monitor programme progress, collect feedback, and make improvements for sustainability.

  8. Record programme outcomes, residents’ participation, and programme feedback using internal documentation systems.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to the planning, coordination, and development of programmes in a nursing home setting, including designing inclusive activities based on residents’ needs and abilities.

  2. To be able to manage programme implementation while ensuring resident engagement and smooth operations.

  3. To apply communication, leadership, and teamwork skills when working with volunteers and community partners.

  4. To participate in volunteer management, including coordination, supervision, engagement, and attendance tracking.

  5. To gain knowledge in programme evaluation, documentation, and sustainability planning.

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 6.00pm
