Organisation Overview: The Empowered Families Initiative (EFI) supports less-resourced families in Singapore to improve their life and financial outcomes. We believe families have the potential and are best placed to shape their own futures. Through matched savings, grants, peer support, and customised pathways, EFI helps families reach meaningful milestones, build confidence, and work towards long-term goals.

Brief Description: Support the planning and delivery of EFI programmes that work directly with families. This role involves coordinating activities, engaging with participants, supporting programme administration, and assisting with events. The intern will gain hands-on experience in community work and programme implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support planning and execution of programme sessions and activities

  2. Assist with participant engagement and coordination

  3. Handle basic programme administration and data tracking

  4. Support EFI events and group activities

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to programme implementation in a community setting

  2. To be able to engage and communicate with families and stakeholders

  3. To apply organisational and coordination skills in real contexts

  4. To participate in programme facilitation and event execution

  5. To learn how to support participant journeys and progress

  6. To gain knowledge in social service programme operations

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 10.00am - 6.30pm. Required to work nights and weekends when needed for operations (OIL given)

Will this internship require weekend work?: Flexible - weekend work may be required depending on operational needs

Requirements (if any):

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfortable engaging with volunteers and community members

  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google

  • Willingness to support some evening or weekend events
