Organisation Overview: ONE Intervention Centre is a child psychologist-led developmental centre supporting children with diverse learning and developmental needs. We provide early intervention, school readiness, and learning support through personalised, evidence-based programmes. Beyond serving children, we are committed to inclusive hiring, offering structured training and meaningful internship opportunities for youth and neurodivergent individuals to grow and contribute.

Brief Description: Support a child psychologist or educational therapist in delivering early intervention programmes for children with developmental needs. Assist in 1-to-1 and group sessions, prepare materials, observe and document progress, and contribute to behaviour and learning strategies. Gain hands-on experience in a structured, supportive environment while developing practical skills in child development and intervention.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the implementation of individualised intervention plans designed by psychologists

  2. Assist in delivering evidence-based therapeutic strategies in both 1-to-1 and small group settings

  3. Observe and document student behaviours, emotional responses, and learning progress during sessions

  4. Contribute insights during team discussions to support case reviews and intervention planning

  5. Create and prepare visual aids, social stories, and other resources to support emotional, behavioural, and social development

  6. Conduct basic research on child development, special education approaches, and best practices in intervention

  7. Help reinforce positive behaviour strategies and routines alongside therapists and teachers

  8. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in accordance with ethical guidelines

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Gain hands-on experience in implementing psychological strategies and interventions in a real-world special needs setting

  2. Enhance your understanding of child development and the impact of diverse needs on learning and behaviour

  3. Build your confidence in working directly with children through guided hands-on support in both individual and group sessions

  4. Develop effective communication and interpersonal skills through collaboration with families, therapists, and educators

  5. Enhance your observation and documentation abilities to support intervention planning and progress tracking

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6.30pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
