Organisation Overview: Kita is a non-profit organisation that journeys with under-resourced youths through participatory and person-centred practices.
Brief Description: Immerse yourself in Kita's mission by supporting youth journeys across our program ecosystem. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will contribute to Kita Space community gatherings, Kita Labs experimentation programs, Kita Studios career development tracks, and an emerging third space where youths connect and pursue their interests, all grounded in participatory and person-centred practices.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the planning and facilitation of Kita Space community gatherings, helping create welcoming environments where youths build meaningful connections and share their passions
Journey closely with youth participants in Kita Labs, supporting them through personal exploration projects and domain-based experimentation activities
Assist in the coordination and delivery of Kita Studios career programmes, including supporting learner management, classroom experiences, and liaison with industry trainers
Contribute to the development of a new third space where youths can meet informally, build relationships, and develop their interests in a supportive setting
Provide individualised support and encouragement to youths across all programme modalities, helping them navigate challenges and celebrate achievements
Collaborate with partner organisations, social service agencies, and community members to support holistic youth development
Document programme observations, youth feedback, and lessons learned to contribute to continuous programme improvement
Provide logistical and event support for programmes, community activities, and any other initiatives as needed
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to diverse youth development approaches across community-building, personal exploration, and career readiness programs
To be able to facilitate group sessions and provide one-to-one support using person-centred and participatory practices
To apply community-building techniques that foster belonging, trust, and youth agency within programme settings
To participate in the design and iteration of new programme spaces, gaining experience in prototyping youth-centred initiatives
To learn how to coordinate across multiple programme modalities and collaborate with external partners in a social service ecosystem
To gain knowledge in programme delivery, learner management, and outcome-oriented youth work within an early-stage nonprofit
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am to 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
