Organisation Overview: SACS is a community service arm of the Diocese of Singapore. SACS was incorporated with a Constitution as a Society with the Registry of Societies on 24 June 1975. SACS continues to partner the Singapore government, other care agencies and members of the community to serve our community through three pillars of services – Psychiatric, Senior as well as Family and Children Services.

Brief Description: The Programme Intern will support psychosocial rehabilitation programmes for people with mental health conditions in a community day rehabilitation setting. This includes assisting with group activities, social engagement, and basic documentation, while working alongside a multidisciplinary team to enhance clients' functional and social outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in planning and facilitating group activities (e.g. psychological, social, recreational)

2. Support clients during sessions (engagement, prompting)

3. Provide basic emotional support and build rapport with clients

4. Assist in programme logistics and preparation of materials

5. Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and briefings

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

1. To be exposed to community psychiatric rehabilitation recovery model

2. To be able to engage and communicate effectively with clients with mental health conditions

3. To apply basic counselling and interpersonal skills in a supervised setting

4. To participate in multidisciplinary teamwork and programme planning

5. To learn from real-world client interactions and professional supervision

Duration of Internship: 5 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
