Organisation Overview: Established in 1995, Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a voluntary welfare organization dedicated to providing holistic care and support to help seniors age healthily in place with community participation, enabling them to enjoy purposeful and meaningful lives. LBSA currently operates 10 Active Ageing Centres, two Community Case Management Services regions (East &West), two Senior Group Homes, Home Personal Care services, that reaches out to socially isolated seniors.
Brief Description: Step into a dynamic role where you'll create impactful, joy-filled events for our elderly community! As an Events Management Intern, you'll plan everything from uplifting social gatherings to powerful fundraisers. This is your chance to make a real difference, bring fresh ideas to life, and see the impact of your work firsthand.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Create & Innovate: Design unforgettable events that engage and inspire; your ideas will bring joy and build community
Drive Fundraising: Strategise impactful events that support our programs with sponsorships, ticket sales, and partnerships
Seamless Logistics: Coordinate venues, vendors, and more for a smooth, mission-driven experience
Build Connections: Promote our events, draw in attendees, and rally community support
On-Site Warmth: Be the welcoming face, energize the space, and ensure every guest feels valued
Gather Insights: Capture feedback to make each event better and keep us aligned with our community’s needs
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Event Planning and Design: Learn to design and create impactful experiences that foster meaningful relationships with donors and the community
Logistics Management: Gain hands-on experience in coordinating event logistics, leading them to manage venues, vendors, and schedules smoothly for well-organized events
Guest Engagement and On-Site Management: Develop skills in on-site setup, guest interaction, and troubleshooting, enabling them to confidently enhance the guest experience and resolve issues effectively
Communication and Collaboration: Build strong communication and teamwork skills, allowing them to collaborate professionally and foster positive relationships with team members and stakeholders
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
