Organisation Overview: Beyond Social Services is a community development agency that envisions a Singapore where low-income individuals, families and communities can marshal goodwill across society to live purposeful, satisfying, and hopeful lives.
Brief Description: To engage and involve children and youth constructively and work in partnership with them to support their ideas and goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To identify strengths and interests of children and youth
To enable them to express themselves and build their confidence
To provide opportunities for caring, decision-making and leadership
To coordinate with volunteers on the programmes and activities
To record and document work done
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to community work
To be able to take a strength-based approach
To learn to draw out stories and ideas using different mediums of engagement
To learn from the community through their live experiences
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 10.00am - 7.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
