Organisation Overview: SL2 Impact works directly with communities who are experiencing social, economic or environmental sustainability challenges. We spend time understanding the context behind local challenges and work with relevant public, private and people sector stakeholders to find the appropriate leverage points to effect systems change. Our unique proposition lies in the ability to harness technology to achieve positive outcomes for the communities we support.
Brief Description: This role is based in our Singapore lab and sits within the Community Team, which leads all direct community engagement activities. Our goal is to strengthen community resilience and build support for sustainability initiatives. You will help expand the community programme across Singapore and work with communities to successfully to:
1. Maintain core program principles in each location
2. Recruit and train volunteer repair coaches
3. Oversee logistics
4. Manage customer and client queries
5. Collect impact data
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Community Programme Management
- Venue Management
- Coordinate with venue organisers
- Assist with logistics and prepare resources for monthly community programs to ensure smooth execution
- Get the new venues set-up
- Volunteer Management
- Manage registration of new volunteers
- Schedule management of manpower resources at various RK venues
- Facilitate effective onboarding, training, and deployment of volunteers
- Track volunteer hours and contributions for reporting
2. Administration (ad-hoc basis)
- Co-managing the content on RK website
- Customer queries management through voice calls, text messages and Facebook messages (other social media included)
- Collection and management of fees paid online
- Checklists, invoicing support to the project lead
- Communicating with different stakeholders for the events/workshops
- Managing community events
- Management of volunteers, recruiting instructors, prepping and training manpower for the delivery of the programme
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. To be able to gain experience in managing both logistics and operations of community programmes and events
2. To be exposed to various administrative tasks, from content management to invoicing, developing strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
3. To gain knowledge in recruitment, training, tracking volunteer participation, key to community-driven initiatives
4. To be able to apply communication skills through direct engagement with venues
5. To learn how to increase awareness and appreciation for community services while fostering a strong sense of community spirit
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: 5-days a week from Tuesdays to Fridays, and Sundays (usually 3 Sundays a month).
Work day timings are generally 10am - 6pm (Tue -Fri), and vary on Sundays (between 3-8 hours, usually average of 4-6 hours only)
