Organisation Overview: Empact is a social enterprise with a social mission to build the capacity of social organisations in Singapore and the region. As a capacity builder to non-profits and social enterprises, we serve as an intermediary to our corporate partners where we match and manage their resources, expertise and skilled volunteers with the real needs in the social sector.

Brief Description: The Intern will be working together with our Client Service Managers and Executives to provide bookkeeping and finance services to our clients.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with bookkeeping and preparing month-end financial reports

  2. Assist with audit queries

  3. Assist with payroll preparation/cashier duties

  4. Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records

  5. Support volunteers with accounting/client related queries

  6. Be present at and assist with company events (including community engagement activities for corporate volunteers with social organisation partners)

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to the social sector: types of social organisations, key stakeholders, key needs and challenges of social organisations, resources and solutions

  2. To apply accounting knowledge to practice

  3. To learn a whole range of accounting and accounting-related tasks from Empact's product and service set

  4. To be exposed to and learn to use accounting software

  5. To participate in cross-team collaboration such as financial literacy for seniors and software implementation for social organisations

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 10.00am - 7.00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: No weekend work required
