Organisation Overview: Established in 1995, Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a voluntary welfare organization dedicated to providing holistic care and support to help seniors age healthily in place with community participation, enabling them to enjoy purposeful and meaningful lives. LBSA currently operates 10 Active Ageing Centres, two Community Case Management Services regions (East &West), two Senior Group Homes, Home Personal Care services, that reaches out to socially isolated seniors.
Brief Description: To assist in coordinating and supporting volunteer-related activities. This includes helping with volunteer recruitment, screening, and onboarding; maintaining volunteer databases; assisting in organising training sessions or appreciation events; communicating with volunteers; and supporting day-to-day administrative tasks. Gain hands-on experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, and event planning while contributing to the smooth running of volunteer programmes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reach out to different volunteer recruitmentinitiatives and platform to expand the pool
Plan and manage all publicity efforts for volunteer recruitment and engagement initiatives and programs
Develop digital marketing content through Facebook, Telegram & EDMs to elevate LB’s brandawareness
Manage volunteer database and prepare timelyprogress reports on deployment and statistics
Administer projects in the areas of improving volunteering literacy
Support in documentation for the volunteer management team
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Understand the principles and processes of effective volunteer management, including recruitment, engagement, and retention
Develop skills in communication, coordination, and relationship-building with diverse groups of volunteers
Learn how to use volunteer management tools and databases for tracking participation and performance for volunteers
Gain experience in planning and supporting volunteer activities and events for volunteer engagement
Understand the importance of aligning volunteer roles with organisational goals and community needs
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
