Organisation Overview: We support children and youth through research-based Social Work and Educational Psychology programmes.
Through targeted interventions, we empower at-risk children and youth, fostering essential life skills, nurturing connections, and promoting personal growth.
Brief Description: The Research Assistant Intern will work closely with the Research Team and gain hands-on experience in research design, literature reviews, data collection, and analysis for studies related to children and youth at risk, such as youth mental health and social mobility. This role also provides opportunities to contribute to practice recommendations, journal publications, and community impact efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Literature Review & Research Design – Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings to inform research questions and study frameworks.
Data Collection & Analysis – Assist in designing and piloting data collection tools (e.g., surveys, interviews), recruiting participants, and conducting interviews.
IRB Applications & Compliance – Support the drafting and submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications for research studies.
Report Writing & Presentation – Analyze research data, assist in developing reports and presentations for stakeholders, and present findings at internal and external seminars or conferences.
Manuscript Development – Contribute to the development of journal publications, including reanalyzing data, drafting manuscripts, conducting literature reviews, and working with co-authors.

Research & Analytical Skills – Ability to conduct literature reviews, analyze data, and synthesize research findings.
Academic Writing & Communication – Strong writing skills for drafting reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
Independence & Self-Motivation – Capable of working autonomously, taking initiative, and managing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving – Ability to evaluate information, draw insights, and approach challenges strategically.
Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills – Comfortable working in teams and engaging with different stakeholders (e.g., community partners, research participants).
Experience in Social Sciences & Research (Preferred) – Background in psychology, social work, sociology, or related fields is advantageous but not required.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
