Brief Description: Research & Digital Media Intern role supporting heritage storytelling projects. Responsibilities include desktop research, field interviews with community members, and creating digital content for social media. Preference for interns fluent in spoken and written Chinese and English; dialects are an advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct desktop research on heritage, cultural practices, and community narratives
Support field interviews with seniors, practitioners, and community members
Develop story angles, scripts, and narratives based on research insights
Create digital content for social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, website)
Support photography, videography, and basic editing for storytelling content
Manage content calendars and assist in scheduling and publishing posts
Monitor engagement metrics and refine content strategies
Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of outreach programmes and events
Provide on-site support during events, including logistics and audience engagement
Capture and document event content and support post-event reporting
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to real-world heritage research, storytelling, and community engagement practices
To be able to conduct interviews and synthesis insights into meaningful narratives
To apply digital media and content creation skills across social media platforms
To participate in outreach programmes, events, and on-ground storytelling activities
To learn how to plan, produce, and evaluate content strategies based on audience engagement
To gain knowledge in Singapore’s cultural heritage, intergenerational storytelling, and digital marketing
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
