Organisation Overview: Established in 2016, Digital Dream is a social enterprise that provides creative digital solutions for schools, institutions, elderly homes, youth groups, commercial spaces and offices.
Brief Description: The Programme Intern provides support to the Programmes team to enable, enrich and empower persons with disabilities. The intern manages volunteers and provides logistical support for performing arts or visual arts classes, annual productions, exhibitions, and commissions. They handle administrative tasks including fee collection for term classes and assist with publicity and marketing for productions, as well as support general programme-related administrative and logistics duties as required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage volunteers and logistical support for performing arts or visual arts classes, annual productions, exhibitions, and commissions
Administrative work for performing or visual arts classes such as the collection of fees for term classes
Other related work, such as publicity and marketing for productions
Support with other general and programme related administrative and logistics duties
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Collaborative practices across disciplines and sectors, understanding and appreciation of the vibrant arts & disability landscape
Diversity Awareness and Management - building a strong skillset in interpersonal relationship skills with people, with or without disabilities
Social Service Programme Development - transferable skills which will be honed through designing several iterations of programmes for beneficiaries, such as pedagogy-driven classes, productions, exhibitions etc
Marketing & Public Relations - gaining sensitivity to differing audience and growing an acute understanding of social media marketing and relationship management
Duration of Internship: 5 months
Daily Working Hours: Tue - Sat, 10.00am - 7.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Regular weekend work as part of normal schedule
Requirements (if any):
Demonstrate a track record of arts education (such as involvement in a performing arts/visual arts CCA/programmes in school), or show an appreciation of performing art forms (dance, music, theatre) or visual art forms (e.g. clay, oil painting, digital art, etc )
Have good communication skills (not limited to written and spoken language - sign language is a useful communication method)
Having experience in video editing and graphic design is an advantage
Have experience working with people with disabilities
Be caring, open-minded, and willing to go the extra mile
