Organisation Overview: New Hope Community Services is a social service agency working to bring change into the lives of the displaced and disadvantaged in the community.
Since 2004, we have been empowering our beneficiaries with opportunities to better their own lives through a range of services and programmes such as temporary shelter, casework, mentoring, job-matching, life-skills training and support with long-term housing and employment.
Brief Description: Programme Interns at NHCS/Kampung Siglap support the planning and delivery of programmes, trainings, and community engagement activities. Duties include logistics, materials prep, registration, venue setup, facilitator support, feedback collection, and event follow-up. This role suits organised, adaptable individuals with strong communication skills and an interest in social service and community work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support programme logistics including venue setup, materials preparation, and participant registration
Assist facilitators and trainers during sessions and ensure smooth programme delivery
Coordinate participant attendance and manage check-in/check-out processes
Gather participant feedback and assist with post-programme evaluation and documentation
Support special activities such as Learning Journeys, retreats, and community engagement events
Work with staff and volunteers to execute community programmes and trainings effectively
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to real-world social service programming and community engagement at Kampung Siglap
To be able to support meaningful programmes that serve vulnerable families and individuals
To apply organisational and communication skills in a practical social service context
To participate in Learning Journeys, retreats, and community events alongside staff and volunteers
To learn how to coordinate programme logistics, gather participant feedback, and document outcomes
To gain knowledge in programme design, delivery, and evaluation within the social service sector
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 5.30pm (Ad hoc on weekends)
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
