Organisation Overview: The Empowered Families Initiative (EFI) supports less-resourced families in Singapore to improve their life and financial outcomes. We believe families have the potential and are best placed to shape their own futures. Through matched savings, grants, peer support, and customised pathways, EFI helps families reach meaningful milestones, build confidence, and work towards long-term goals.

Brief Description: Support the recruitment, coordination, and engagement of volunteers for EFI programmes. This role involves working closely with volunteers and families, helping to organise activities and events, and ensuring a meaningful volunteer experience that supports programme delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and coordination

  2. Assist in managing volunteer schedules and communications

  3. Support planning and execution of EFI events and activities

  4. Maintain volunteer records and feedback

  5. Support planning and execution of programme sessions and activities

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to volunteer management in a community setting

  2. To be able to coordinate and communicate with diverse stakeholders

  3. To apply organisational and administrative skills in real contexts

  4. To participate in programme and event execution

  5. To learn how to build volunteer engagement and retention

  6. To gain knowledge in community programme operations

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 10.00am - 6.30pm. Required to work nights and weekends when needed for operations (OIL given)

Will this internship require weekend work?: Flexible - weekend work may be required depending on operational needs

Requirements (if any):

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfortable engaging with volunteers and community members

  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google

  • Willingness to support some evening or weekend events
