Organisation Overview: TomoWork is a Singapore charity with IPC status dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities and students requiring tailored assistance. We provide programs that help individuals gain the skills, confidence and connections they need to thrive in the workforce.
Brief Description: As a Programme and Social Innovation Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). You will work closely with the team to facilitate programmes, engage directly with participants, and contribute to the organization's digital presence. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector and inclusive social practices.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Help organize Community Projects & Community Events that support the skills development of PWDs. This will include planning, execution, logistical support as well as administrative support
Be a buddy to the Special Education Needs participants during the Programme
Help in sending out communications to SEN participants on WhatsApp/Telegram Channels,
Assist in collating and creating simple content for Social Media Channels and Websites
Conducting primary and secondary research and documenting learnings and know-how in strategies to work with differently abled in the workplace
Manage Database and tracking progress of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) & Partners
Creating reports and analyses of the outcomes of the Programme
Provide administrative support to the team's operations, e.g. notetaking for meetings
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be empowered with the skills to manage and facilitate inclusive social programmes from planning to execution.
To be exposed to direct interaction with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), developing high-level empathy and inclusive communication strategies.
To be proficient in data management by analyzing participant feedback and survey results to identify areas for programme improvement.
To be involved in the formulation of data-driven recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of social innovation initiatives.
To be equipped with the ability to create impactful digital content that promotes social causes and community engagement.
To be trained in professional research and documentation, focusing on workplace inclusion strategies and social service operational excellence.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
