Organisation Overview: The Empowered Families Initiative (EFI) supports less-resourced families in Singapore to improve their life and financial outcomes. We believe families have the potential and are best placed to shape their own futures. Through matched savings, grants, peer support, and customised pathways, EFI helps families reach meaningful milestones, build confidence, and work towards long-term goals.

Brief Description: Support EFI’s fundraising efforts by identifying and communicating with donors. This role includes assisting with campaigns, outreach, and events, while gaining exposure to how funding supports programme impact for families.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support donor research and outreach efforts

  2. Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns

  3. Help with donor communications and follow-ups

  4. Support fundraising events and engagement activities

  5. Support planning and execution of programme sessions and activities

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to fundraising strategies in the non-profit sector

  2. To be able to support donor outreach and engagement efforts

  3. To apply communication and research skills in fundraising work

  4. To participate in campaign and event execution

  5. To learn how to build and sustain donor relationships

  6. To gain knowledge in resource mobilisation and impact funding

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 10am to 6.30pm. Required to work nights and weekends when needed for operations, interns will be compensated with off in-lieu

Will this internship require weekend work?: Flexible - weekend work may be required depending on operational needs

Requirements (if any):

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable with research and outreach tasks

  • Detail-oriented and organised

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google

  • Interest in fundraising or the non-profit sector

  • Willingness to support events, including some evenings or weekends
