Organisation Overview: Children’s Wishing Well (CWW) is a registered charity and IPC founded in 2002. We focus on supporting disadvantaged children and youth from low-income families. We provide our programmes and services 100% free of charge to almost 1,000 children and youth. We believe that by providing the children with educational support and more equal opportunities, they will be empowered to maximise their potential and break out of the poverty cycle.
Brief Description: We are seeking a passionate and organised Outreach & Development Intern. The intern will assist in donor communications, volunteer coordination, digital outreach materials, and the planning of a year-end donor appreciation event. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, stakeholder engagement, event support, and community outreach while contributing to meaningful work for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising & Donor Engagement
· Support creation of digital fundraising and outreach collaterals such as e-newsletters, emailers, social media visuals, and donor communication materials to engage existing donors and partners.
· Assist in preparing personalised communication materials for existing donors and corporate partners.
· Support donor & partners stewardship efforts through timely follow-up emails and communication.
· Help maintain and update donor records in the organisation’s database.
· Assist in tracking fundraising outreach activities and donor responses.
2. Volunteer Management
· Support volunteer engagement through follow-up emails, scheduling, and coordination.
· Assist in maintaining volunteer records and participation data.
· Liaise with volunteers to confirm attendance for programmes and events.
· Help prepare volunteer briefing materials and appreciation messages.
3. Event Support
· Support planning and coordination of the year-end donor appreciation luncheon.
· Assist with invitation management, RSVP tracking, and event logistics.
· Coordinate event materials including programme booklets, name tags, and presentation materials.
· Provide on-site administrative support during the event.
4. Administrative Support
· Assist with general administrative tasks related to outreach and fundraising.
· Prepare meeting notes, reports, and documentation as required.
· Perform other duties assigned by supervisor/CEO.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. Develop fundraising communication skills
Gain experience in creating donor-focused digital collaterals that effectively communicate organisational impact and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
2. Build donor and volunteer relationship management skills
Learn how to maintain professional communication with donors, corporate partners, and volunteers to support long-term engagement.
3. Strengthen event planning capabilities
Acquire practical skills in supporting the planning and execution of donor engagement events from preparation through implementation.
4. Enhance digital content creation skills
Improve proficiency in designing outreach materials for email and social media to support fundraising campaigns.
5. Improve administrative and database management skills
Learn accurate record-keeping and data management practices essential for nonprofit fundraising operations.
6. Understand nonprofit outreach and stewardship practices
Gain insight into how donor stewardship and volunteer engagement contribute to sustainable community impact.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
