We work towards providing the necessary tools, resources and networks that will empower members of our community to define what success means for themselves, and to bring them closer to fulfilling it.
Brief Description: The Marketing & Communications - cum Event Management Intern will support Mendaki Club's Secretariat and MarComm Teams in brand outreach and engagement initiatives, assisting with digital marketing, content creation, social media management, and internal and external communications. Regular weekday hours are expected, though occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Any additional hours beyond the stipulated schedule will be compensated through time-off in lieu.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in developing and executing marketing and communication strategies to promote MENDAKI Club’s brand & initiatives
2. Create engaging content for social media and other communication channels
3. Support in managing social media accounts and monitoring engagement matrics
4. Help design marketing materials (brochures, posters, digital assets) using tools like Canva
5. Capture event highlights for post-event reporting and marketing use
6. Support in logistics planning, event registration & on-site coordination for MENDAKI Club’s programmes.
7. Coordinate with Programmes Team to ensure smooth event operations.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. Gain real-world experience in marketing strategy, event planning and brand communication
2. Mentorship and feedback from experienced marketing professionals
3. Exposure to campaign planning, digital marketing tools and stakeholder management
4. Gain insight into how a Secretariat Team supports and enables volunteer-led programmes and initiatives serving the Malay/Muslim community
5. Deepen awareness of contemporary issues within the Malay/Muslim community and how programme interventions contribute to positive change
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon - Thu, 8.30am - 6.00pm, Fri, 8.30am - 5.30pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
