Organisation Overview: Filos Community Services is a not-for-profit social service organisation. We focus on building the strengths of the community we live in. We work towards empowering individuals and families to live more fulfilling, meaningful and happier lives.
We equip young families with parenting skills, shaping character in children, educating our youth, helping the elderly age in place with grace, or assisting those with financial needs, our programmes and services have something for all ages.
Brief Description: Support case management processes through befriending, ongoing monitoring and follow-up on clients’ presenting issues, and assist in the delivery of social work interventions within the community.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist with intake assessments of clients to evaluate their needs and level of functioning.
Collaborate with the Supervisor and Case Managers to develop and implement appropriate case plans.
Facilitate access to services by linking service clients to relevant community resources and support networks.
Provide befriending and psychosocial support to service users, where required.
Support the planning and coordination of in-house and external health screening programmes for clients.
Undertake outreach efforts to engage individuals and target groups who may benefit from programmes.
Provide administrative support, including the timely updating of clients’ case records and fulfilment of other administrative requirements.
Prepare and submit reports as required.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer or Manager.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to the social service sector, gaining insight to the role of a social worker.
To be able to engage with clients from different background.
To participate in outreach efforts and health screening programmes.
To learn how to develop and implement case plans for clients.
Duration of Internship: 5 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
