We equip young families with parenting skills, shaping character in children, educating our youth, helping the elderly age in place with grace, or assisting those with financial needs, our programmes and services have something for all ages.
Brief Description: The role involves proactively engaging clients and organising social activities to promote active and healthy ageing. The position aims to empower residents to take charge of their own wellness journey, reduce social isolation, and encourage active lifestyles. The role also includes identifying needs and referring clients to relevant community care and social assistance when necessary.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Programme Development & Implementation
Support the Active Ageing Committee in the development, coordination, and implementation of wellness and active ageing initiatives.
Assist in organising and facilitating wellness and engagement programmes for elderly clients.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify programme needs, review outcomes, and recommend improvements.
Liaise with volunteers, trainers, and partners to ensure smooth programme delivery.
Client Engagement & Support
Manage programme intake processes and carry out relevant client assessments.
Perform community screening for seniors (outreach or referred).
Support seniors in using mobile devices to participate in hybrid or digital activities.
Conduct basic health assessments and screenings when required.
Assist the Befriender Coordinator in engaging and supporting befriended clients, including conducting needs assessments.
Education & Empowerment
Provide education and guidance to seniors on healthy lifestyle practices and chronic disease management.
Encourage self-care and empowerment among seniors to maintain active and meaningful lives.
Community Partnership & Collaboration
Assist in identifying, developing, and maintaining partnerships with community stakeholders to strengthen service linkages and resource referrals.
Support colleagues in outreach efforts and group work initiatives aimed at community wellness.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the system.
Provide administrative and logistical support for programmes and events.
Undertake any other duties assigned by the Programme Executive or Manager to support the smooth running of operations.

To understand and able to relate to the blueprint of our national initiatives in supporting older persons in the community.
To have real experiences in operationalising eldercare services, such as AAC, and relate intimately to challenges on the ground.
To have the opportunity to communicate and connect with older persons.
To apply the knowledge and skills gained from their studies to improve the well-being of older persons.
Duration of Internship: 5 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
