Organisation Overview: St Hilda’s Community Services Centre (SHCSC) was registered with the Registrar of Societies and the Charities Act in 2001. We are a VWO, a social service arm of the St Hilda’s Church. SHCSC has worked in the Tanjong Rhu/Old Airport community for more than 24 years, serving 20 blocks of HDB flats. Our services include; Active Ageing, Senior Day Care, Day Rehab , PWID, Home Personal Care and Medical Services Transport with Social, Nursing and Care Teams to care and support the community.
Brief Description: The intern will provide technical assistance for computer systems, software, and networks, working with external vendors when needed. They will troubleshoot issues, install and configure hardware/software, and support end-users. The intern will also help monitor networks for security breaches, investigate incidents, and maintain security software including firewalls and encryption programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Identify, communicate and manage current and emerging security threats with relevant stakeholders
2. Develop Information security compliance frameworks, security policies and procedures, where necessary
3. Work with Unit Heads, internal IT and 3rd party vendor teams to promote and adopt security best practices
4. See to the security systems, such as firewalls, data protection controls, patching, encryption, vulnerability scanning, pen testing, and so on
5. Assist to monitor the company's networks to keep an eye out for any security breaches and investigate it if one does occur
6. Assist to install software that is created to protect sensitive information, such as firewalls and data encryption programs
7. Project management e.g. Cyber Security and Ingot System
8. Any other duties as may be assigned
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. To be exposed to current and emerging security threats
2. To learn how to work with Unit Heads, Internal IT and 3rd party vendor teams
3. To apply what one learnt in school re security compliance frameworks and security policies and procedures to the Org. in Health Care Sector
4. To be able to do and learn in Project Management
Duration of Internship: 5 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 9.00 am to 6.00pm; Sat (if rostered duty), 9.00am to 1.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Flexible - weekend work may be required depending on operational needs
