Organisation Overview: Established in 2016, Digital Dream is a social enterprise that provides creative digital solutions for schools, institutions, elderly homes, youth groups, commercial spaces and offices.

Brief Description: Gain experience in community building and volunteer management. This role focuses on attracting and retaining volunteers by engaging with potential and existing volunteers at SalvageGarden’s weekly Make Inclusive Tech programmes and other ad-hoc events and activities. You may also help plan team bonding activities and social media strategies. Through this role, you will develop skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the running of programmes by helping to facilitate sessions, and engaging participants, volunteers, and partner organisations

  2. Provide general volunteer management support such as maintaining records and keeping communication organised

  3. Learn and apply maker skills (e.g. 3D printing) to support the design, prototyping, and testing of assistive devices. (Introductory workshops are available through the National Library Board)

  4. Support the development and planning of volunteer management strategies and activities to facilitate the recruitment and retention of SalvageGarden’s volunteers

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To be exposed to community building and volunteer management in a volunteer-driven organisation

  2. To gain knowledge of assistive technology and inclusive design

  3. To be able to apply core workplace skills, including independent learning, time management, curiosity, adaptability, and communication

  4. To develop confidence in the workplace

Duration of Internship: 6 months

Daily Working Hours: Sun-Thu, 9.00am - 6.00pm

Will this internship require weekend work?: Regular weekend work as part of normal schedule
