Organisation Overview: Engineering Good Ltd is a Singapore-based non-profit organisation that supports inclusivity for vulnerable communities, such as persons with disabilities and low-income families, through technology and sustainable engineering solutions.
Brief Description: This role supports the creation of engaging digital content that shares the organisation’s impact and brings fundraising campaigns to life. Through social media, storytelling, and creative campaign assets, the intern helps amplify the voices of communities we serve while building meaningful connections with supporters online. Ideal for someone who enjoys combining creativity with purpose and wants to use digital media to make a positive social impact.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and produce engaging social media & website content with the objective of benefitting our beneficiaries (low-income families & persons with disabilities) and mission
Interview staff, volunteers, partners, or beneficiaries to capture meaningful stories about the organisation’s work
Assist in planning and scheduling posts align with content calendars and campaigns
Monitor social media engagement and assist with responding to comments or messages in a timely and appropriate manner
Support the development of marketing assets such as digital flyers, presentations, or newsletters
Brainstorm creative ideas for campaigns, storytelling formats, and digital engagement to generate publicity for Engineering Good and encourage steps towards building an inclusive society
Assist the team in maintaining a library of photos, videos, and content assets for future communications
Support initiatives that grow the organisation’s online community and visibility
Occasional cat duties rotated among staff, such as brushing, feeding, and changing of litter
Any other ad-hoc duties
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To develop awareness and cultivate empathy for the lives of the vulnerable (such as Persons with Disabilities and low-income families) in our community
Learn about inclusive design and content allyship
Create a range of social media posts, campaign materials, and marketing assets that can be included in a professional portfolio
Learn how to communicate community stories respectfully while protecting the dignity and privacy of beneficiaries
Increase practical knowledge of Communications and Advocacy, especially through the lens of non-profits
Project management skills in creating content and scheduling postings in a timely manner
Learn about the issues on the ground pertaining to Digital Inclusion and Assistive Technology
Understand how non-profits communicate their mission, build awareness, and engage supporters through digital platforms
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6.30pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
