Brief Description: Product Design Intern role supporting the development of heritage / wellness-based programmes and experiences. Responsibilities include user research, concept development, prototyping, and supporting programme design for community engagement. Ideal for individuals interested in design for social impact, with opportunities to work on real-world projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct user and community research to understand needs, behaviours, and motivations
Support ideation and concept development for programmes, workshops, and experiences
Assist in designing user journeys and experience flows for participants
Develop low-to-mid fidelity prototypes (e.g. programme concepts, activity kits, interfaces)
Support testing and iteration of programme designs based on feedback
Assist in creating presentation decks, design documentation, and visual materials
Work with the team to translate content into engaging, accessible experiences
Support facilitation of programmes and observe user interactions for insights
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, facilitators)
Contribute ideas to improve programme effectiveness and user experience
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to real-world product and experience design in a social impact context
To be able to conduct user research and translate insights into design opportunities
To apply design thinking methodologies to develop and refine programme concepts
To participate in prototyping, testing, and iteration of user-centred solutions
To learn how to design meaningful experiences that engage diverse communities
To gain knowledge in human-centred design, service design, and social innovation
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
