Organisation Overview: Unlocking ADHD’s mission is to empower ADHDers and their families to live life to the fullest.
Launched in late 2021, Unlocking ADHD (UA) aims to give hope to the ADHD community and bridge the information gap about ADHD in Singapore. Through our outreach events and community resources in collaboration with mental health professionals, UA equips the ADHD community with the necessary knowledge to fulfill their potential despite the challenges that ADHD may bring.
Brief Description: Provide supervised one-to-one counselling support to youth and adult clients with ADHD, offering emotional support, active listening, and practical coping strategies. Maintain accurate case documentation, participate in supervision and case reviews, and uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct one-to-one counselling sessions with ADHD clients (youth or adults) under supervision
2. Provide emotional support, active listening, and practical coping tools tailored to ADHD challenges
3. Maintain professional records of sessions (case notes, pre/post assessments)
4. Participate in supervision and case review sessions provided by Unlocking ADHD
5. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards of practice at all times
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
1. To be exposed to one-to-one counselling sessions with ADHD clients (youth and adults) in a supervised setting
2. To be able to provide emotional support, active listening, and practical coping strategies tailored to ADHD challenges
3. To apply counselling techniques and ethical guidelines in real client interactions
4. To participate in supervision and case review sessions to enhance clinical understanding
5. To learn how to document case notes and conduct pre/post assessments professionally
6. To gain knowledge in ADHD-related interventions, client management, and confidentiality standards
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?:
Flexible - weekend work may be required depending on operational needs
