Organisation Overview: United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore is the local chapter of the UN Global Compact, mobilising businesses in Singapore and across Asia to advance sustainable and responsible practices. It supports companies in aligning with global standards on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, while providing platforms, programmes, and partnerships to turn sustainability commitments into measurable action and impact.
Brief Description: Support UNGCNS in delivering high-impact sustainability initiatives across corporate engagement, strategic partnerships, fundraising campaigns, and youth programmes. Gain hands-on experience in stakeholder management, sponsor engagement, event strategy, and ecosystem building while working with sustainability leaders and corporate decision-makers in Singapore.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Events & Corporate Engagement: Assist in planning and executing flagship forums, roundtables, and networking sessions; coordinate speakers, sponsors, and partners; prepare event materials; manage RSVPs and attendee data; provide on-site programme support
Partnership & Fundraising: Research potential partners and sponsors; support sponsorship decks and proposals; track sponsor deliverables; participate in corporate meetings when relevant
Communications & Engagement: Draft and design simple visuals or communications; support outreach to corporate members, partners, and youth; assist in post-event reports
Youth & Ecosystem Initiatives: Support youth engagement programmes and early-career sustainability initiatives; coordinate logistics and participant communications
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Understand how sustainability platforms are conceptualised, funded and executed
Gain exposure to corporate sponsorship strategy and stakeholder engagement
Develop skills in project management, communications and partnership coordination
Build confidence interacting with senior corporate leaders and sustainability practitioners
Strengthen commercial awareness within a purpose-driven organisation
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Thu, 9.00am - 6.00pm, Fri, 9.00am - 5.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: No weekend work required
Requirements (if any):
Proficiency in Excel and basic graphic design (Canva, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, or similar)
Proactive, detail-oriented and able to multitask
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders independently
Minimum age 18, interest in sustainability and non-profit work
Able to support on key event days when required
