Organisation Overview: TriGen strives to bridge generational gaps through relationship building and meaningful interactions in its programmes to serve vulnerable older adults in Singapore with innovative intergenerational programme. We hope to inculcate youths with a passion for service and offer them a platform to gain healthcare and caregiving skills.
Brief Description: Want to go beyond planning and actually lead programmes that impact lives?
Join TriGen x Youth Corps Singapore and play a key role in driving intergenerational healthcare initiatives that connect youths with older adults and healthcare professionals.
As a Community Engagement Intern, you’ll be at the forefront of programme execution, volunteer engagement, and stakeholder collaboration - gaining real-world experience in community-building and healthcare initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Programmes & Operations
Lead and execute intergenerational healthcare programmes in both community and hospital settings
Support the rollout of the Healthcare Youth Leaders Programme (HYLP)—a leadership initiative equipping youths with essential healthcare competencies
Work closely with partners (e.g. SGH, community organisations) on programme planning and execution
Volunteer Engagement & Development
Support volunteer recruitment, coordination, and engagement efforts
Help design and deliver a meaningful volunteer experience from onboarding to retention
Contribute to building a sustainable volunteer leadership pipeline
Programme Evaluation & Improvement
Collect and analyse programme data and feedback
Identify insights and propose improvements to enhance programme impact
Support ongoing research and development of new initiatives
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Hands-On Programme Leadership: Take ownership of real initiatives and see your work translate into tangible impact
Exposure to the Healthcare & Social Impact Sector: Understand how community programmes support healthcare systems and ageing populations
Volunteer & Community Management Skills: Learn how to engage, motivate, and sustain a volunteer network
Stakeholder Engagement Experience: Work with healthcare professionals, community partners, and youth leaders
Project Management & Facilitation Skills: Build confidence in running programmes, facilitating activities, and leading reflections
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 6.00pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
Requirements (if any):
Who We’re Looking For:
Students from any discipline with an interest in community engagement, healthcare, or social impact
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organised, dependable, and able to manage multiple moving parts
Comfortable working both independently and in a team
Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take initiative on the ground
There will be meetings and programmes which will occur on weekday nights and/or weekends. If you are required to attend these events beyond working hours, you will be able to claim time-off and off-in-lieu days accordingly.
We’re looking for youth who are passionate about serving the community and keen to gain insights of the healthcare sector and the efforts to build intergenerational programmes to care for our older adults.
