Organisation Overview: The Muslimin Trust Fund Association (MTFA), established in 1904, is one of Singapore’s oldest Malay/Muslim charity organizations. It focuses on the well-being of the less fortunate through social welfare and education. MTFA is renowned for operating the Darul Ihsan Orphanages, providing a nurturing home for orphaned and displaced children. Beyond residential care, they offer financial aid, burial services, and educational subsidies, staying true to their mission of uplifting the community.
Brief Description: The Community Engagement & Programme Intern will work closely with the Executive to plan and design impactful community initiatives. You will assist in the creative conceptualization and strategic mapping of programs that serve diverse beneficiaries. This role offers a unique "behind-the-scenes" look at program design, stakeholder management, and the execution of outreach projects, requiring a blend of creative thinking and administrative precision.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the Executive in the end-to-end planning and creative design of upcoming community programs.
Conduct needs-assessment research to ensure program content and gift items are relevant to beneficiary demographics.
Assist in drafting professional program proposals, including budget projections and resource planning.
Coordinate with corporate partners and donors to align their contributions with specific program goals.
Collaborate on the design of program collaterals, digital assets, and on-site engagement activities.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
To be exposed to the full program development lifecycle, from initial ideation to post-event evaluation.
To be able to draft structured program proposals and justify resource allocation.
To apply design thinking principles to create meaningful and resonant community experiences.
To participate in stakeholder meetings and learn the nuances of corporate-charity partnerships.
To gain knowledge in balancing organizational strategic goals with the real-time needs of the community.
Duration of Internship: 6 months
Daily Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am to 5.30pm
Will this internship require weekend work?: Occasional weekend work for special events/projects
